Two posts in one day, I hear you cry? (In my head, I actually have a readership.) Don't worry - this one is purely a rant.
I now hate Liverpool FC more than any other club.
Of course I can't stand Chelsea, who've bought their success and are chock-full of despicable characters, or Man U, who are just Man U - too arrogant and too damn good. (Arsenal are the only member of the "big 4" who I have any time for, as I like the fact that Wenger sticks bloody-mindedly to his principles even though they might have become a detriment to the club's success.)
But the Scousers are even more detestable precisely because they're not very good. Four games so far this season, three very lucky victories with the winners coming in the final minutes, and one godawful boring nil-nil today at Villa Park. Despite having spunked hundreds of millions on several new teams, they're still no nearer to playing decent football and challenging for the Prem under Rafa as they were under poor old Houllier. And yet their fans will go on and on about their five sodding european cups and how "this is going to be our year" (just like the last few eh lads?) and generally act horrified if you dare criticise their shitty team and city.
Make no mistake - Liverpool should be challenging for the title with the resources they have. Instead Rafa keeps buying average players and pointlessly rotating all his good ones, and they're always out of the title race before Christmas, and playing utterly mind-numbingly boring football. What is the fucking point of this team? I want excitement and a four-way title race, not to have some joke of an underachieving club clogging up the top 4, with a manager who doesn't even like the Prem because some nasty little teams actually play hard and tight against them and don't just leave the game open for them counter-attack, and who only play half-decent in Europe, and even then couldn't beat Standard bloody Liege in 180 minutes of football, and if you can't do that you don't DESERVE to be in the fucking group stages.
What a disgraceful, despicable shower this team are. Either play better football, or play properly in the Prem, or just fuck right off. Thanks for listening.
